| Oakland Raiders 2011 Schedule: Last Few Weeks of Season Vital to Oakland’s Success | |
Read More: San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers The Oakland Raiders haven’t been to the playoffs since their Super Bowl appearance in 2002, but will look to change all that in 2011. If the Silver and Black want to get into the second season they’re going to have to take care of business the last few weeks of the season, but it won’t be easy. The Raiders head to Lambeau Field to face the Packers in week 14, a place where very few road teams ever get a win, especially in the dead of winter. At this point I’ll say that game likely won’t fall in Oakland’s favor, but week 15 will. The Detroit Lions will be at the Coliseum, and all though the Lions are a much improved team, I think the Raiders can take care of business at home against them. The last two weeks of the season are key divisional matchups at the Kansas City Chiefs in week 16 and at home against the San Diego Chargers in week 17. Arguably the two best teams in the AFC West, the Raiders will probably have to win both of these games to get into the playoffs seeing how tight the AFC West was last season. Playing at Arrowhead Stadium is always a challenge, and whenever the Chargers and Raiders play each other, it’s going to be a great game. If the Raiders play their last four games with a 3-1 record, I think they will have a great chance to make the playoffs. They just have to get it done the first 13 weeks of the season first… That’s all for today.
